The last of three people charged in a well-publicized April 5 shooting spree in North Battleford has been sentenced.

Troy Delorme, who has been in custody since April, was sentenced Tuesday in provincial court to 10 months in jail.

That includes time already served, plus an additional 60 days in jail after Delorme entered guilty pleas to three charges: use of a prohibited firearm without regard to the safety of others, possession of a firearm while prohibited and breach of probation.

Delorme also receives an additional six months probation following his jail time, with conditions imposed that include a curfew and no-contact orders.

Judge Bruce Bauer also imposed a lifetime firearms prohibition, a DNA order and a forfeiture of weapons order in provincial court Tuesday. Surcharges were also imposed.

The case against Delorme was set for trial on that day. However, a settlement was reached and the three guilty pleas were entered. All other remaining charges were withdrawn.

The alleged incident took place during the nighttime hours of April 5. According to the submission from Crown prosecutor Jennifer Schmidt, Delorme fired a sawed-off SKS-227 semi-automatic rifle into the air and later shot it again at the house of a co-accused.

According to the Crown Delorme had been a member of the Terror Squad street gang, and the incident occurred in the context of a number of Terror Squad-related offences during the spring.

The sentencing submission was a joint one from the Crown and from defence counsel Kevin Hill, who indicated his client wanted to move forward with his life.

Two others accused in the April 5 incident have already been sentenced. Ryan Bear received nine months in jail for his role in the case. A third accused, a youth, received probation.
