"I couldn’t believe it!”

Kevin Johnstone's wife didn't believe him when he told her he had won $250,000 on a LOTTO MAX ticket.

Kevin Johnstone was shocked to see $250,000 on the screen after scanning his LOTTO MAX ticket on a self-checker.

“I was really shocked,” he said. “I think I was actually feeling more disbelief than anything else – I couldn’t believe it!”

He called the cashier to confirm his win, just to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.

The Mont Nebo resident explained after confirming his win, his only challenge was convincing his wife he actually won.

“She didn't believe me at all!” he chuckled. “She had me doubting myself!”

Johnstone is looking forward to putting his windfall towards taking care of some bills.

Johnstone purchased his winning LOTTO MAX ticket at Leask Cafeteria, located at 10 Main St. in Leask. He won his $250,000 prize by matching all of the numbers of a MAXMILLION draw on June 22 – 22, 27, 30, 32, 36, 37, and 42. Johnstone split his MAXMILLION with three other tickets sold across Canada.
