SASKATOON — Urvishkumar Patel stopped for fuel and ended up filling his bank account, too. The Saskatoon resident checked his LOTTO MAX ticket and discovered he won $134,172 on the June 18 draw.

“I scanned my ticket on the self-checker and froze,” he said. “I immediately asked the cashier for a pen so I could fill out all my information on the back … my hand was shaking the whole time.”

“On the way home, I called my wife and told her the good news,” he continued. “When I got home, we scanned the ticket on the Lotto Spot! app and danced around for a bit. We were so happy!"

The winner said he and his wife have one major plan for their recent windfall – buying a house.

“I think the majority of the money will go toward a down payment,” he said. “At some point we would like to do some travelling too.”

Patel purchased his winning ticket at the Shell Food Store located at 3330 8th St. East in Saskatoon. He won his prize by matching six of the seven main draw numbers and the bonus number – 11, 14, 15, 24, 34 and 47, and the bonus number, 36.
