NDP leader’s seat loss could be upset by mail in ballots

CARROT RIVER VALLEY — Fred Bradshaw said he felt “relieved” after winning the Carrot River Valley provincial riding for the Saskatchewan Party.

HUMBOLDT — With a strong majority, Donna Harpauer of the Saskatchewan Party has been reelected to the legislature for the seat of Humboldt-Watrous.

It was a "big honkin' win" for the Sask Party across the Northwest region, with Jeremy Cockrill winning the Battlefords to complete a clean sweep of the region for the governing party.

In Cut Knife-Turtleford, with 49 of 52 polls reporting, Ryan Domotor of the Sask Party has taken the majority of votes with 4,418. Matt Fedler of the NDP has 732 votes. The Buffalo Party with Richard Nelson is third with514.

A Saskatchewan man was acquitted on numerous weapons charges after a judge ruled the RCMP wrongfully searched his home. Judge M.T. Beaton, Saskatchewan Associate Chief Judge, excluded evidence of 31 firearms seized by police at the home of Perry K.

The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce is planning to host the North Battleford mayoralty forum on Oct. 27. The event will be at Western Development Museum at 6 p.m., but due to COVID-19 it will be closed to the public.
