EAST CENTRAL — Community Futures Sagehill has had to pivot as its clients – new businesses – have been affected by the pandemic.

Windy conditions continued in most of the province this week, but started to calm down in other areas. This allowed more farmers to get into the field to spray for in-crop weed control and insect pests.

Battlefords and District Community Foundation has announced it has awarded $40,000 in grants to four local charities to address needs due to COVID-19.

TISDALE — Tisdale RCMP said they “responded to a complaint of a subject who was on his way to shoot his family members at a residence in the Tisdale Detachment area.” They responded on June 24 at around 1 p.m.

The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) slammed the Saskatchewan government’s planned $120 million expansion of the Saskatoon Remand Centre. The expansion will consist of 216 cells and have a capacity of up to 427 people.

The city of North Battleford will hold a special council meeting Thursday, June 25. The meeting will be held virtually on the ZOOM platform at 5:15 p.m. and only one item is on the agenda: the COVID-19 re-opening plan and related matters.

On June 24 at approx 1 p.m. Tisdale RCMP responded to a complaint of a subject who was on his way to shoot his family members at a residence in the Tisdale Detachment area.

A trial for a man charged in a violent home invasion in Unity was adjourned. A trial for Drayden Clinton, 25, of Macklin, was scheduled in North Battleford Provincial Court June 22, 23 and 24.

The case against a Muskoday First Nation man charged with sexual assault was adjourned again. Jason Glen Dreaver, 39, was arrested in March 2020 for a 2011 sexual assault. He was released on bail in March.

A Meadow Lake man arrested by the Saskatchewan Emergency Response Team (ERT) after police received multiple threats involving firearms is seeking bail.
