HUMBOLDT — Humboldt’s in good financial shape, Mayor Rob Muench told the audience at a state of the city address. The address was hosted by the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 11.

A run for mental health is taking place this weekend in North Battleford. The Bridging Communities Mental Health Run looks to bring together community members in the name of mental health. Running categories include 1K, 2K and 5K.

HUMBOLDT — Ninth Street in Humboldt looks smoother these days after crews resurfaced the street. Fifth to Seventh Avenue was resurfaced on Sept. 3 and 4 and introduced a new product to Humboldt streets, a type three Can Seal micro-surfacing.

NIPAWIN — David Petersen of Nipawin was found not guilty of uttering threats against the Prime Minister and the Parliament buildings during a phone call.

HUMBOLDT — S/Sgt. Al Presler spent his first years of his service with the RCMP in Humboldt 19 years ago. Now he has returned as the Humboldt detachment’s new commanding officer. Presler said he’s excited to be back in the community.

MELFORT —The City of Melfort is in discussions to move the location of the mural that was going to be installed at the Historic Post Office.

What turned out to be a controversial impound and towing RFP process in North Battleford was settled Monday evening. At City Hall, North Battleford city council voted unanimously to authorize a five-year agreement with Lash-Berg Towing of Battleford.
