MELFORT — Melfort RCMP have released photos of a suspect and vehicle believed to be connected to a string of thefts, hoping the public has information that can help with the case. The thefts happened on the west side of Melfort from Dec. 31 to Jan.

Two individuals celebrated the end of Christmas Day by breaking into a Watson grocery store and stealing several bottles of alcohol. The break-in happened on the 100 block of Railway Avenue Dec. 25 at midnight.

Approximately $1,000 worth of items were shoplifted from a drug and convenience store on Humboldt’s Main Street. A man and a woman entered the store on the 600 block of Main Street Dec. 12, concealed several items and left making no attempt to pay.

MELFORT — The Melfort and District Fire Department will no longer be responding to fire alarm systems out in the RM of Melfort without the go-ahead of an individual.

ARBORFIELD — Two and a half years after a major flood hit Arborfield, the town is looking for a consultant to review a nearby berm and drainage works. The berm is adjacent to Burntout Creek, located south of the town.

There was a nasty surprise at Wadena’s community hall on New Year’s Day – a flood. “We did have a pipe that froze in the kitchen at the hall,” said Ferne Hebig, the town’s administrator.
