NORTHEAST — As the province develops a new 10-year education sector strategic plan, it invited the North East School Division and other stakeholders to a summit to give input.

MELFORT — Melfort residents wanting to appeal the assessed value of their property will have to pay more than double. Melfort council voted to change the fee at its Nov. 5 council meeting.

The Horizon School Division board of education has a new vice-chair. Linda Mattock, the trustee for Humboldt and area, was elected to serve in the position by her fellow trustees at the division's board of education meeting Nov. 7.

MELFORT — The City of Melfort placed second in the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association’s awards for the work done to complete the Wellness Centre. The municipal awards recognize innovation and excellence in local Saskatchewan governments.

RCMP is giving crediting to the public for their help tracking down a suspect accused of attempting to pass counterfeit bills in the Battlefords.

Be on the lookout for phony money. Battlefords RCMP report receiving several complaints from businesses of counterfeit $50 and $100 Canadian currency.
