KELVINGTON — Greenwater RCMP are asking for help after a man attempted to convince a six-year-old Kelvington girl to get into his vehicle. The child ran for help and the male drove off in his vehicle. The event happened July 18 at around 8 p.m.

A Canadian Pacific derailment Tuesday near Rockhaven did not result in any environmental damage, according to Cut Knife RCMP. Police report that seven cars carrying liquid asphalt derailed at about 6 p.m.

Because of weather issues on July 1, the City of Humboldt had to reschedule their fireworks display. The city has announced that July 22 will be their new fireworks day with 40 oz Philosphy returning to play a show prior to the fireworks.

As cannabis legalization progresses, the Town of Battleford is preparing for new business developments. Thunderchild First Nation approached the town with plans for a grow operation. The facility would be located west of Battleford near Highway 16.

The body of a 15-year-old male was recovered from Turtle Lake Wednesday at 7:20 p.m. by the RCMP's Underwater Recovery Team. Turtleford RCMP say he will not be identified.
