The RM that contains the intersection where the collision between the Humbodlt Broncos’ team bus and a semi-trailer happened is calling on the province to add rumble strips.

MELFORT — Melfort’s Brunswick Elementary is asking the City of Melfort to make improvements to the streets that surround the school to improve student safety.

A serious collision was reported to RCMP on Friday, April 6. After further investigation, the accident was found to involve a semi truck and the team bus of the Humboldt Broncos.

Like so many other recent tributes to the Humboldt Broncos, it began with a single text message. “Leaving it out on the porch tonight. The boys might need it…wherever they are,” read a text received by TSN radio personality Brian Munz.

The GoFundMe page set up to support Humboldt Broncos families has exceeded many’s expectations. The page was set up shortly after the Humboldt Broncos bus crash on April 6 and has now reached over $7.
