It was smooth sailing Monday night at city council for the proposal for downtown incentives. City council unanimously passed a resolution in favor of the downtown revitalization incentive policy that had been introduced last month.

Melfort council is questioning the fairness of a policy that’s designed to ensure there’s construction on property sold by the city, as opposed to having it remaining empty, held by real estate speculators.

On Wednesday, it was Guy Caron’s turn to make his pitch to New Democrat supporters in North Battleford. Caron was in the city for a meet-and-greet with party members as part of his campaign for the leadership of the federal NDP.
