This year Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club.

Fifty-five North Battleford Comprehensive High School students held a fundraiser wake-a-thon in support of The Lighthouse Serving the Battlefords last Friday. This event was a joint effort among three school groups — SADD, Interact and Me to We.

The second annual Capital One Race for Kids has raised $21,670 in the Battlefords. That total was announced Monday in a news release from the organizers of the event, the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club.

It was a day made for the ladies but it was also a day to give back to the Humboldt Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Humboldt Kinettes.

Service dogs for veterans are $10,000 each. And Humboldt residents want to help Saskatchewan veterans get them at the Paws for Veterans gala on Jun. 3 at the Humboldt’s Royal Canadian Legion.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28 Humboldt hosted their Decoration Day on Jun. 5. The day began at the Veterans’ Section of Humboldt Public Cemetery where a small service was held.

This time, there was no foul odour over North Battleford from a biofertilizer application near the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings held their regular meeting May 16. The executive gave reports on the staff/physician meeting and the medical meeting that was held with the physicians and Prairie North Health Region personnel.
