HUMBOLDT — Power was out in parts of Humboldt, Muenster and nearby rural areas after an accident involving a vacuum truck.
At 4:21 p.m. on Jan. 29, SaskPower reported that it was working on the issue.
Police, fire and ambulance services were stationed on Highway 5 in the east end of Humboldt where farm implement dealers are located. Eastbound traffic had to take a slight detour on a side road parallel to the highway. SaskPower was on site to ensure the safety of all involved.
The Humboldt Fire Department said a contractor was operating a vacuum truck when the boom contacted the power line. While the truck sustained some damage, there were no injuries.
SaskPower said that power was restored at 6:27 p.m.
