The cold weather may have been a factor in a quiet 24 hours in the Battlefords, with RCMP responding to about 15 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6.
One of those calls was a false/nuisance 911 call.
Wednesday
8:28 a.m. - Vehicle parked on 1200 block of 102nd Street on Friday night had a window damaged.
11:37 a.m. - Harassing phone calls complaint. Unknown man calling complainant initially claiming to be from Microsoft. Now threatening to bomb complainant's house. Investigation ongoing.
12:23 p.m. - Gas theft on Highway16 bypass. Female suspect driving a white or beige Ford Taurus with Alberta plates last seen driving towards Saskatoon.
1:42 p.m. - Noise complaint on Winder Crescent, partying and or fighting going on. Members attended and arrested a 29-year-old man for mischief and assault. Limited co-operation from other persons present. Subject has since been released without charges.
3:43 p.m. - Complaint of an assault on 108th Street and 12th Avenue. Complainant advising he was assaulted by an unknown man while walking. Investigation ongoing.
6:55 p.m. - 48-year-old man arrested for public intoxication, complaint of passed out man in the lobby of a business.
8:58 p.m. - Property dispute between a couple breaking up mediated on 110th Street.
11:16 p.m. - Two suspicious vehicles stopped beside each other on 15th Avenue and occupants yelling at each other. Patrols negative.
11:54 p.m. - Unwanted intoxicated people known to complainant knocking on her door on Trudeau Street. Subjects then left, unknown direction. Patrols negative.
Thursday
1:50 a.m. - Two complaints called in, one complaint of woman hitting a man with a beer bottle at a bar, second of a man pushing a woman around.. Both parties found to be very intoxicated. No injuries and man did not want matter pursued. 44-year-old man and 44-year-old woman both arrested for public intoxication and held in custody until sober.
