CALGARY, ALTA., - A Calgary man has been found not guilty of killing 47-year-old Sheldon Wolf of Saskatchewan.
Victor Fayiah Braima was acquitted on a second-degree murder charge in Calgary Court of King’s Bench Oct. 27.
Wolf, who was from Carrot River, Sask., was staying at the Sandman Hotel in downtown Calgary when he willingly met several people he had no previous relationship with, said Calgary Police Service. His body was found in a rural area north of Airdrie, 28 kilometres north of Calgary, on Feb. 4, 2020.
Wolf was reported missing Feb. 3, 2020, after he was last seen leaving the downtown Calgary hotel at about 7 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2020.
In February 2020, Calgary Police arrested Braima. A year later CPS said they were looking for a second person, Sharmarke Ali Mohamed, 23, from Regina. CPS believes Mohamed got out of a white Infiniti QX4 and then got into a Toyota Scion with Wolf minutes before Wolf was murdered.
Mohamed’s whereabouts remain unknown and there are no tips coming into CPS, Lindsay Nykoluk, a spokesperson from CPS told SASKTODAY.ca in an email Tuesday. Mohamed also has ties to the Toronto area and goes by the alias Mohamod.
