Calgary Police are searching for a Regina man as a person of interest in the murder of Carrot River, Sask., resident Sheldon Wolf. Wolf, 47, was reported missing to Calgary Police on Feb.

Calgary Police are searching for a Regina man as a person of interest in the murder of Carrot River, Sask., resident Sheldon Wolf.

Wolf, 47, was reported missing to Calgary Police on Feb. 3, 2020, and was last seen at the downtown Calgary Sandman Hotel at about 7 p.m. on Feb. 2. His body was found in a rural area north of Calgary near Airdrie, Alta., on Feb. 4, 2020.

On Feb. 17, 2021, Calgary Police issued a statement saying they are now looking for Sharmarke Ali Mohamod, 22, whose last known address was Regina. They say he also has ties to the Toronto area.

Calgary Police allege Mohamod exited a white Infiniti QX4 and then entered a Toyota Scion with Wolf already inside - minutes before the homicide.

"We know several people were involved in Mr. Wolf's homicide and we are intent on locating those individuals," said Homicide Unit Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta.

"We won't stop and will continue to pursue this until we're satisfied everyone involved has been held responsible. Visitors to Calgary have the right to feel safe."

Victor Braima of Calgary was arrested in February 2020 and charged with first-degree murder in connection to Wolf’s murder.

Braima was released on bail in 2020 and is on 24-hour house arrest in Calgary. A preliminary hearing for Braima is scheduled from July 19 to 23 in Calgary Provincial Court.

Police believe Wolf willingly met with people he had no prior relationship with before he went to Calgary.

Calgary Police are asking anyone with information about Mohamod's whereabouts, or the homicide, to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or online at www.calgarycrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 app and cite Case #20049391/3581.
