It has been announced that all Western Development Museum locations in North Battleford, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Yorkton are closed effective Tuesday, due to the COVID-19 virus.
"We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and the decision to close is in the best interest of our visitors, volunteers and staff," stated the news release from the museum. It was noted the board as well as the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport support the decision.
Joan Kanigan, CEO of the WDM, issued the following statement:
"We are committed to the health and wellbeing of people in all our communities. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve rapidly, we have made the difficult decision to close all Western Development Museum locations to the public until further notice. We value the support so many in our communities have shown the WDM over the year and we look forward to welcoming you back into our Museums when it is safe to do so."
