The honours have been pouring in this fall for Anderson Pump House.

The North Battleford-based business was already announced as this year's Battlefords Business Excellence Heritage Award winner, but now they have received even greater provincial recognition as they will be inducted into the Achievements in Business Excellence Business Hall of Fame.

The business officially becomes an ABEX Hall of Fame member Oct. 26 at a ceremony at TCU Place in Saskatoon.

The honour comes during what has been a 30th anniversary year of celebrations for Anderson Pump House. The company began initially as a water and sewage system provider, but the business now includes a wide range of water system products and has a staff of 45 people.

They operate from two locations, North Battleford and Prince Albert, under the leadership of president and general manager Howard Kirby.

In a statement, Saskatchewan Chamber president Steve McLellan praised both Kirby and the business.

"Howard Kirby personifies the Saskatchewan business person, committed to the communities he works in, dedicated to his staff and possessing a personality that, even though he has seen great success, retains modest and industrious," said McLellan.

"Howard and the people of Anderson Pump House Ltd. are very deserving inductees of the Business Hall of Fame. In fact, it's even more fitting this year, as both the ABEX awards and the business itself are celebrating 30 years this year."

In addition to the hall of fame induction, Anderson Pump House will be honoured with a BBEX Heritage Award Oct. 8 when those awards are handed out at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts in North Battleford.

While the official announcement was made last Thursday, word of the latest honour for Anderson Pump House leaked out to the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce just prior to the official announcement.

At their directors meeting Tuesday, Battlefords Chamber Executive Director Linda Machniak called it "very exciting news" that an entity outside Saskatoon or Regina had been honoured with the Business Hall of Fame award.
