Arson car fire suspect to be in court

A North Battleford man has been charged with arson and three other charges in connection to a vehicle fire that took place in early August in Battleford.

A North Battleford man has been charged with arson and three other charges in connection to a vehicle fire that took place in early August in Battleford.

The 19-year-old is charged with arson, possession of an incendiary device, and also faces criminal harassment and failure to comply with an undertaking as a result of a second incident from Aug. 6 involving the same family who were victims of the vehicle fire.

The vehicle fire took place Aug. 2 at 4:56 a.m at a residence in the 10 block of First Avenue East in Battleford. The vehicle was a total loss.

According to police the investigation revealed the fire was deliberately set.

Scholl was charged earlier in August and has already made an appearance in provincial court in North Battleford. He is currently remanded in custody and is due back in court Sept. 2 at 11 a.m.
