The Battlefords Rural RCMP Detachment is investigating a fire at their RCMP community office in Moosomin First Nation that happened Tuesday morning. At around 3:30 a.m.

The Battlefords Rural RCMP Detachment is investigating a fire at their RCMP community office in Moosomin First Nation that happened Tuesday morning.

At around 3:30 a.m. June 22, an RCMP officer on the reserve noticed a fire burning at the RCMP office, originating on the exterior and adjacent to the building. The building was converted from a residence to an office, and was leased to the force by Moosomin First Nation.

Substantial damage was caused to the structure before the fire was put out, and it is no longer available for use.

The RCMP is asking for information about the incident.
