Assault caught on video

UPDATE: A 24-yea- old woman arrested Saturday in connection with the incident below has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court at 2 p.m. on June 27 on a charge of assault.

UPDATE: A 24-yea- old woman arrested Saturday in connection with the incident below has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court at 2 p.m. on June 27 on a charge of assault. A second suspect, Danielle Wuttunee, 19, of North Battleford has been charged with assault and a warrant for her arrest has been attained. She currently remains at large.

BACKGROUND: Battleford RCMP are investigating an assault after several reports of a video posted on social media showing a female suspect assaulting another female. 

The victim in this case has been located and interviewed. She sustained minor injuries to her face and head area.

The video in question shows a suspect punching, kneeing and kicking the victim numerous times in the head and face in an attack that appears to have been unprovoked, while a second suspect films the incident.

The incident occurred at a residence in the city of North Battleford in the early morning of Saturday, May 28. One adult female has been arrested in connection to this incident and remains in custody, after allegedly filming the assault. 

Charges are currently pending. A second adult female suspect has been identified and remains at large. Charges are currently pending for her as well.

The investigation into this matter in still ongoing.
