The North Battleford RCMP detachment had a busy weekend as they responded to more than 120 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19 and 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22.
The calls over the three-day period included five child welfare or family relations complaints, one reported fraud investigation, 22 municipal bylaw or disturbing the peace complaints, four false or nuisance 911 calls, 11 traffic complaints or investigations and four false alarms.
Friday
10:29 a.m. - Report of a stolen scooter on 107th Street. Scooter located and returned to owner. Suspects involved between 9 and 12 years of age were warned about behaviour.
11:15 a.m. - Report of a missing certified patient from hospital. Located by members a short time after called in and returned without incident.
1:52 p.m. - Two-vehicle collision at 100th Street and 18th Avenue. One vehicle was rear ended by a second vehicle while waiting to safely complete a turn. 29-year-old man has been charged with following to closely contrary to the Traffic Safety Act. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. Neither vehicle had to be towed from scene.
2:08 p.m. - Report of a vehicle running into a building on Thatcher Avenue. No injuries reported. Male driver facing one count of driving an unregistered vehicle contrary to the Traffic Safety Act.
3:16 p.m. - Report of damage to a door to a residence on 1300 block of 110th Street. No entry to residence gained. Occurred some time in the morning.
3:58 p.m. - 52-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance near Don Ross Hill. Held in custody until sober.
5:46 p.m. - Theft of a long board from a yard on 109th Street. Long board was recovered by owners and a suspect has since been identified. Investigation still ongoing and charges still pending.
5:49 p.m. - Report of damage to property on 1100 block of 109th Street. Occupants returned home after a period of time away and found residence damaged. Evidence collected on scene indicates damage caused by a firearm, believed related to an incident reported in area during early morning hours of Sept. 13.
7:16 p.m. - 63-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance, located sleeping and very intoxicated in an alley off 104th Street. Held in custody until sober.
10:22 p.m. - Call of an assault. Victim alleged to have been slapped in the hand while driving in North Battleford by suspect. No injuries and no charges pursued.
10:56 p.m. - 49-year-old man arrested for public intoxication. Reported to be causing a disturbance by yelling at people on 107th Street. Held in custody until sober.
11:21 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated man refusing to leave a bar and stealing other patrons beers. 44-year-old man located, arrested and charged. Held in custody until sober.
Saturday
12:20 a.m. - Report of a disturbance on 102nd Street. Caller reporting unwanted person knocking at their door. Two intoxicated person located arguing. Both removed from area.
2:27 a.m. - 21-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance. Found extremely intoxicated on 11th Avenue.
2:48 a.m. - 28-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance. Found intoxicated and sleeping in the middle of a parking lot on 101st Street.
3:00 a.m. - Call of a naked man running down 102nd Street. Man was located and was in fact wearing clothes, but was very intoxicated and had an outstanding warrant for assault causing bodily harm. Arrested for same.
4:14 a.m. - 27-year-old man charged with possession of marijuana after a vehicle stop on 6th Avenue.
5:05 a.m. - 24-year-old man arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08 after a vehicle located driving erratically on Territorial Drive. A 26-year-old male passenger was also arrested and facing one charge of obstruction.
6:15 a.m. - Caller reporting she did not want her son-in-law at her house, then admitted he hadn't actually been at her house for several hours. Caller advised to maybe call when the person she doesn't want at her house is actually at her house.
7:19 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated person sleeping outside near Winder Crescent. Subject located and arrested. A man attempted to pull away and flee from arresting member while being escorted to police vehicle but was subdued quickly. 14-year-old man is facing one count of obstruction. Held in custody until sober.
9:56 a.m. - Vehicle stolen from 1500 block of 100th Street. Recovered in alley off 98th Street, abandoned.
2:15 p.m. - Report of a man setting fire to a bandana in a yard on 1800 block of 101st Street. Man stamped fire out when he noticed he was being witnessed and fled on foot. Suspect described as being First Nations, short, about 13 years of age wearing a hat and jeans.
2:46 p.m. - 48-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance after a complaint of an unwanted person at a residence on 98th Street. A man was located a short distance away, very intoxicated. Held in custody until sober.
4:16 p.m. - Items reported stolen out of a vehicle parked on St. Laurent Drive some time after 2 p.m.
5:21 p.m. - 26-year-old man arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 after a reported shoplifting incident at a business on the 1000 block of 101st Street.
6:49 p.m. - 19- and 25-year-old men arrested for causing a disturbance on Railway Avenue East after complaint of two intoxicated people drunk and vomiting outside a business.
7:17 p.m. - 18-year-old man arrested for public intoxication after he was found sleeping in a park at a picnic table off 110th Street.
8:13 p.m. - Report of an assault at a residence on 1400 block of 101st Street. Victim was transported to hospital suffering from injuries to her head and face, not believed to be life threatening. Victim was very intoxicated at time of complaint and unable or unwilling to provide details about what happened. Matter remains under investigation.
8:35 p.m. - Report of a theft of gas from a business on Heritage Way. 22-year-old woman later arrested. Outstanding bill paid by suspect and no charges pursued.
9:32 p.m. - Complaint of ongoing harassment. Suspect and complainant are known to each other. Investigation ongoing.
10:34 p.m. - 28-year-old man arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08 after a vehicle stop on Poundmaker Trail. He is also facing charges of driving without a license and speeding under the Traffic Safety Act.
Sunday
12:10 a.m. - 13-year-old youth arrested and charged with breach of probation, found by patrolling members on 100th Street out in violation of his curfew.
1:12 a.m. - 17-year-old youth arrested and charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, mischief and possession of a weapon in connection with several reports of property being spray-painted on 98th and 99th Street. The youth was located and arrested by members shortly after 2 a.m. and found to be in possession of a hatchet at the time of his arrest. He remains in custody and appeared in North Battleford Court Monday morning.
2:43 a.m. - 24-year-old man arrested after a report of an unknown man inside complainants vehicle on 101st Street. Charges currently pending.
4:39 a.m. - 23-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance after complaint of an intoxicated man passed out in waiting room of hospital.
10:55 a.m. - Two-vehicle collision at intersection of 93rd Street and 18th Avenue. 22-year-old driver of one of the vehicles has been charged with failing to yield the right of way at an intersection. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
12:31 p.m. - Garage and fence spray painted on 700 block of 101st Street.
3:53 p.m. - Members called to assist complainant retrieving property from her ex-boyfriend. Property retrieved and no charges pursued.
4:27 p.m. - Report of an assault on 110th Street. Victim sustained minor injuries and would not co-operate with any investigation.
5:57 p.m. - Complaint received of a male teenager walking on 10th Avenue in possession of a pink .22 calibre rifle. Area was thoroughly searched and no suspect located. No additional reports made. Complaint refused to provide any details of incident or co-operate with investigation.
7:54 p.m. - Report of a youth attempting to steal a scooter from a yard on 108th Street. Scooter recovered. The suspect was alleged to have pulled out a knife and fled the scene. No injuries reported. Suspect has been identified and matter remains under investigation.
8:06 p.m. - Report of a shoplifting incident at a business on Railway Avenue East. Investigation ongoing.
9:38 p.m. - 28-year-old woman arrested for causing a disturbance after a report of intoxicated people arguing and yelling on 101st Street.
11:11 p.m. - Call to a residence on 103rd street. Man at a residence contrary to probation order. Subject was already gone at time of complaint. 37-year-old man is currently being sought and two counts of Breach of Probation.
