The Civic Centre and Don Ross Arena will be a hub of hockey activity this weekend for First Nation teams from around Western Canada.

It is the Battle of the Bands All Treaty Hockey Tournament and officials are excited about the influx of people into the community for the event, according to a City of North Battleford press release. Past Battle of the Bands tournaments in North Battleford have attracted upwards of 5,000 people.

“The City of North Battleford is excited to host the Battle of the Bands All Treaty Hockey Tournament again this year”, states Mayor Ian Hamilton.

“We welcome the hundreds of participants and spectators that will visit our city over the coming weekend and encourage all citizens to come to the Don Ross Arena and Civic Centre to enjoy some great hockey.”

“The Battle of the Bands All Treaty Hockey Tournament is proud and excited in creating a new partnership with the City of North Battleford,” said Grant Whitstone, founder of the tournament.
