RCMP received several reports shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday of a black bear seen in the area of St. Laurent Drive.
The animal was located a short time later having taken shelter in a tree along Territorial Drive East near St. Laurent Drive. Police say the bear was contained and Conservation Officers were called in to assist.
The bear was successfully tranquillized and removed from the city and appears to be unharmed and in good health.
