Public deliberations are to begin next week for the 2013 budget in North Battleford.
The city has released the dates for the public and also the closed-door meetings. The plan is for public meetings on the 2013 utility budget to take place Wednesday, Jan. 16 between 4 and 6 p.m. As well, the public meetings for the operating and capital budget are to go Thursday, also between 4 and 6 p.m.
These meetings are open to all members of the public. There are other budget meetings happening Jan. 8, 9 and 13, but those will be closed to the public.
If necessary, more budget meetings are to be slated for the week of Jan. 21.
It is anticipated the presentation and the adoption of the 2013 budget will take place at the Jan. 28 council meeting and that utility rate bylaws will be introduced at that time as well.
