The pot in this year’s Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation’s $100,000 Cash Lottery 50/50 Add-on was more than $52,000 and went to Battleford residents Joan and Floyd Andersen.
The prize was the highest since the 50/50 Add-ons were introduced in 2011.
Joan and Floyd were excited to receive their winnings and, as Joan noted as she was handed the cheque, “We will all need to use this hospital at one time or another and we have always supported the foundation’s fundraisers. When you purchase a lottery ticket or a 50/50 Add-on you don’t expect to win, but it is a gift when you do.”
