Building permits continue to be healthy for the year in North Battleford, but permit values did take a dip in November.

Eight permits for $959,000 were reported in November, compared to six for $3,899,000 in November 2011.

Contributing to the drop was the lack of activity in new condos or new institutional categories. In 2011 one new condo permit was issued for $1,958,000 and two new institutional permits were issued for $1,588,000, compared to nil in both categories this time around.

In terms of permits issued, one new dwelling permit was issued for $269,000, one new duplex for $405,000, one residential alteration for $30,000, one commercial alteration for $13,000, one new industrial for $150,000, two industrial alterations for $64,000 and one institutional alteration for $28,000.

For the year to date 122 permits were issued for $43,195,400 compared to 128 issued for $74,483,350 through November 2011. The bulk of last year's permit value total, though, was made up of the components of the Credit Union CUPlex.

The November report was compiled by Building Inspector Jerry Wintonyk and presented to North Battleford's municipal services committee meeting on Monday.
