A Carrot River councillor has tendered his resignation.
“Due to my new job, I am working away and unable to properly perform my duties that I was elected to perform,” said Aaron Dyck in a media release issued by the town Oct. 6. “I have enjoyed my time on council and have learned a lot in the time that I have served.”
The town said that Dyck’s presence will be missed. The committees that he served on, which included the recreation board, will be filled by the other councillors for the time being.
A date for a byelection to fill the empty council spot will be determined at the next meeting of Carrot River council Oct. 18.
