Rabbit Lake's Rose Gill lodge hosted a Pie in the Eye fundraiser, raising $13,000 for the facility.

The voting got really hectic the last couple days with everyone wanting their favourite person in the top 20. Norma Sherman's family put her over the top with Nicole McNabb second.

For the Saturday night event there was a nurse's stand made by Curtis and Nicole McNabb with Crystal Wright finding the nurse painting for the front.

Trevor Pauls supplied the DJ music to start everything off with music. There was a good crowd on hand with Charlie Schira doing the auctioning of the pies. When the bidding started everyone got involved.

The wild cards were a huge success, with one selling for $1,000 and board member Stan Moore got the pie in the eye. Everyone was a good sport about receiving a pie in the eye.

Pied were board members, workers and people from the community and even the auctioneer got a pie in the eye. There was a resident table set up for raffle prizes and Jean Hansen, a resident of Rose Gill, looked after the ticket selling. Proceeds go to buy things for the residents.

Also sold were 50/50 tickets, and Brenda Aumach was the winner of that. A bar fridge was donated by Wright Choice Seed Cleaning plant to one of the people who got a pie in the eye. Winner of that was Mary Ann Smith.
