The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce has a very busy 2016 in store, including a number of new events.
Among the new events is Chamber On Tap, which features a number of guest speakers who will speak to about 45 guests in a more relaxed setting at the VIP room of the Gold Eagle Casino.
The first event was slated for Thursday, Feb. 25 between 5 and 7 p.m. with guest speaker Dr. Rex Newkirk of the Canadian Feed Research Centre.
At the Chamber’s Tuesday director’s meeting, executive director Linda Machniak reported this event was sold out and the next event, in April, is also sold out. Three other Chamber on Tap events are upcoming for this year as well.
On March 1, the Chamber launches another initiative with the Betcha Didn’t Know Business Tours.
The March 1 tours take place at the Canadian Feed Research Centre at 1 p.m. and again at 2:45 p.m. The tours are aimed at groups of eight to 10 people each. People can reserve their spot on those tours by calling 306-445-6226.
The Chamber is also once again hosting luncheons featuring prominent guest speakers.
On March 9 the Chamber hosts a Member Information Luncheon at Northland Power Curling Centre. The guest speaker is Cam Cooper of Praxis Analytics and the topic is The Saskatchewan Outlook: Saskatchewan’s Economy and Personal Well-being, The View from the Street. The cost is $20 and the deadline to register is March 1. Once again those interested should contact the Chamber at 306-445-6226 or email at [email protected].
