Maidstone RCMP report that on Feb. 14 at approximately 3 p.m. they received a complaint of forcible confinement and assault involving two male youth victims, aged 13 or under, that occurred in the community of Maidstone.
Members conducted an investigation and as a result of the investigation, two youths have been charged. They will not be named as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A 13-year-old male from Maidstone is charged with two counts each of: unlawful confinement, section 279(2) CC; assault with weapon, section 267(a) CC; using a firearm in the commission of an offence, section 85(1)(a) CC; and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88 of the CC.
A 16 year old from Maidstone is charged with two counts each of: unlawful confinement, section 279(2) CC; assault with weapon, section 267(a) CC; using a firearm in the commission of an offence, section 85(1)(a) CC; possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88 of the CC; uttering threats, 264 CC; pointing a firearm, section 87 of the Criminal Code.
Both youth have been released on conditions and are to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court April 26 at 10 a.m.
