Below is a release from the city about waste and recycling pickup:

A new year sometimes means change. For the City’s waste and recycling collection, the change comes with Loraas Environmental Services Ltd. picking up the black garbage bins now, instead of K&B Construction.

While this may result in a change of the pick-up route, the pick-up time has not changed: The trucks still come between 7am and 5pm to empty the black or blue bins. However, if residents are used to having their bins picked up at 9am, this may have changed now with the new contractor and their bins will get picked up earlier or later than what they were used to.

This is a friendly reminder to put the bin out on the street before 7am to make sure it doesn’t get missed.

We also take this opportunity to remind North Battleford residents of the services that we have available to make sure their bins always get picked up:

1. We recommend downloading the North Battleford Waste and Recycling App onto your
phone. The App sends a reminder the night before pick-up. OR
2. Go to http://www.cityofnb.ca/residents/waste_recycling/curbside_program.html
o Type your address into the little box in the “Collection Schedules and Reminders”
o You will now see the Calendar for your address
o You can click on “Get a Reminder” and select the channels you would want to be reminded through (by phone, text message, email, twitter etc.).
o Here, you can also print a 12-months calendar. This calendar also shows when the pick-up day changes due to Statutory Holidays.

All residents who have signed up for the reminders also receive information on other services like Household Hazardous Waste Days, compost/leave pick-up in the fall and ad hoc changes and notifications.

Residents can contact Environmental Manager Tammy MacCormack at 306-445-1738 for more information.
