An opportunity to have their say is now available to North Battleford residents.

Through a survey over the next month, the City of North Battleford is asking residents for feedback on how the City communicates with them. The survey is part of research being conducted to develop a long-term communication plan for the City.

The survey seeks feedback on how residents currently access information from the City, what topics they would like to know more about, and how they would like information on City news, programs and services to be shared with them.

"We're hoping to have as many residents as possible complete the survey so we have some good information to enhance our communications -- perhaps develop new communication tools if required, or stop doing things that residents simply aren't using or paying attention to," said Mike Halstead, marketing and communications coordinator.

The City currently communicates with residents via website, e-mail blasts, Facebook, and Twitter. The "City Bulletin" appears in the Regional Optimist every week, and a daily "City 60" radio ad airs on CJNB, Q98, and 93.3 The Rock.

Internally, Halstead says the City's new communication plan will fine-tune consistency and create efficiencies in how staff access information they need to do their jobs, which could lead to cost and time savings.

"Like any organization, the City is always looking for ways to improve internally, and how we can best serve residents. It's important for residents to access the information they're looking for in a timely manner, and through the simplest way possible," adds Halstead.

Starting on Aug. 15, residents can link to the survey from the home page of www.cityofnb.ca (paper copies are available at City Hall). The survey will be available until Sept. 15. It takes five to 10 minutes to complete.
