A collision between a Ford F-150 and a semi-truck near Kelvington resulted in two deaths.

At the junction of Highway #38 and Highway #49 Oct. 7, the northbound F-150 failed to stop at a stop sign south of Kelvington and was struck by a eastbound blue semi tractor-trailer unit hauling gravel on Highway #49.

First responders were on scene providing medical attention when Greenwater RCMP members arrived. A 98-year-old female passenger in the F-150 was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 66-year-old male driver was transported to hospital with serious injuries and later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver of the semi-truck, a 52-year-old male, was not injured and did not require medical attention.

Traffic flow was diverted for approximately seven hours. A motor vehicle collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The Greenwater RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of Yorkton Traffic Services and no charges have been laid in this matter.

Update: The direction of travel for both the vehicles was wrong. This has been corrected.
