While the recent civic election saw a number of committee assignments change hands for the coming term, there are no changes coming to the top of the two standing committees at North Battleford City Hall.

Council veteran Ray Fox will again chair the important Municipal Services Committee while Councillor Don Buglas continues on in his role as chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Fox will also continue on as a Parks and Rec Committee member, while all council members will serve on the Municipal Services Committee.

Both appointments were approved by council in a resolution passed at Tuesday's meeting. The appointments of Buglas and Fox as chairs will come under review again in the fall of 2013.

Also approved at the Tuesday meeting were several board and committee appointments for all members of council. Those include a number of new appointments to fill positions that opened up following the shakeup of council ranks in the Oct. 24 municipal election, in which two incumbents were defeated.

The assignments include ones to internal City Hall committees as well as to external boards. They are as follows:

Don Buglas: appointed to the BATC Community Development Corporation, the Grant Review Committee, the NB Golf and Country Club Operating Committee and Table Mountain Regional Park;

Ray Fox: appointed to Concern for Youth and Grant Review Committee;

Trent Houk: appointed to Audit Internal Working Committee and Yellowhead Highway Association;

Ryan Bater: appointed to Audit Internal Working Committee, Battlefords River Valley Board and as city representative on the Chamber of Commerce board;

Cathy Richardson: appointed to Dekker Centre board, Lakeland Library Regional board, North Battleford Library board and Tax Policy Internal Working Committee;

Greg Lightfoot: appointed to Battlefords Handi-Bus Transportation System, Jackfish Lake Watershed Association and North Saskatchewan River Basin Council; and

Mayor Ian Hamilton: appointed to Battlefords Tourism and Convention Association, Battlefords River Valley Board and Dekker Centre board.

The rotation has also been set for the deputy mayor position in North Battleford, with each councillor serving two months in the role.

For the November-December period Ryan Bater will serve as deputy mayor, to be followed by Trent Houk, Greg Lightfoot, Ray Fox, Don Buglas and Cathy Richardson in that order.
