Community grants approved

North Battleford's Parks and Recreation committee approved several community grants at their meeting Monday. Battleford Boys and Girls Club were approved for $2,000 to assist with their evening program.

North Battleford's Parks and Recreation committee approved several community grants at their meeting Monday.

Battleford Boys and Girls Club were approved for $2,000 to assist with their evening program.

Battlefords Kinsmen Swim Club will garner $7,500 for their junior and senior program running from September to March. The amount is the same as what was granted to the Synchronized Swim Club earlier and is considered one-time-only funding.

Flatland Freestyle Ski Club will get $2,000 to purchase new equipment. That is the maximum portion that meets the eligibility criteria.

Battlefords Quarter Horse Club Inc. will receive $800 to host a horse handling clinic at the Sunshine Arena.

Battlefords Music Teachers were granted $500 towards hosting a beginners' band workshop.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Program was tentatively granted $483 for their new social skills group for children focusing on learning and discussing specific social skills, subject to the committee getting more information to ensure this request meets criteria.

Finally, Battlefords Blend is approved for $1,000 towards a Celebrating a Centennial Christmas Show, again subject to getting more qualifying information.
