The City of Saskatoon has completed its repairs of the water main at Ruth Street and Wiggins Avenue but has advised residents in the neighbourhoods of Avalon and West Stonebridge that water pressure in their area would return to normal three days after repairs were completed on Tuesday.

The hot weather is not helping the situation since the heat brought by the warm temperatures has forced people to increase their water usage. The water remains safe to drink as its quality is not affected.

The City has also announced a number of closures where they are advising motorists to find alternative roads and all passengers taking the bus to plan their trips as detours will affect the bus routes because of the ongoing construction and other repairs. Avenues I and J in 20th Street will be closed for an expected two days starting Wednesday.

Here are some of the other roads that will be closed temporarily due to repairs, rehabilitation, or resurfacing being done: Avenues Q and R in 20th Street, and 33rd Street between Edward Avenue and Spadina Crescent, Ruth Street between Victoria and Broadway, and the intersection at Ruth Street and Victoria Avenue.

Motorists should also expect closures at Spadina Crescent northbound left turn to 33rd Street westbound, Spadina Crescent southbound curb lane \at 33rd Street, and 33rd Street north side sidewalk between Edward Avenue and Spadina Crescent.

The eastbound lanes of College Drive, between Central Avenue and Highway 41, are undergoing some resurfacing where the project is expected to be completed in two weeks ,while the Circle Drive overpass at 8th Street is currently being rehabilitated where northbound and southbound traffic flow is expected to slow down.

Expect lane closures at 8th Street and Circle Drive between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. where work is in progress. The section is to remain open in the day. The project is expected to be completed in six weeks.
