TISDALE — Those living on the west side of Tisdale might smell natural gas.

On Wednesday, May 29 starting at 8 am, TransGas will conduct a brief, controlled venting of natural gas from its compressor station on Heritage Road. The venting will last around a half an hour.

The company said the venting is necessary to perform planned operational upgrades to the natural gas system by removing gas from the line before work begins.

Residents and drivers in the area may notice a faint natural gas odour during this process.  A specialized masking agent will be used to neutralize the odourant added to the natural gas in our system and minimize the smell. The company said those that think they smell natural gas can notify SaskEnergy’s 24/7 emergency line at 1-888-700-0427.

The company said there will be no disruptions to natural gas service for TransGas or SaskEnergy customers during this process.
