HUMBOLDT — A process has begun that could see the west end of Ninth Avenue near the Humboldt Smiles Dental Studio paved.
The project would cost nearly $48,000, with property owners with frontage on the street on the hook for almost $37,000. The city would have to spend its money to upgrade the road’s base to support pavement.
Council voted to submit the project to the provincial government at its May 13 meeting. If it’s approved, property owners would be notified. If owners controlling more than 50 per cent of the assessed value of properties that have frontage on the street oppose the project, then it would be stopped.
