This weekend marks the seventh year that the Battlefords Quarter Horse Club hosts an old fashioned equestrian parade to raise awareness and support for the almost 800 children in the Battlefords who rely on the food bank in North Battleford on a monthly basis.
The parade starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday beginning at Fort Battleford continuing down 22nd Street in Battleford. This year will also feature a kids' carnival at the gazebo that goes from 1 to 3 p.m.. It features kids' games, food and events.
In addition, back by popular demand is the Cowboy Harvest Dinner and Dance Friday, at the Air Cadets Hall. The event will feature a catered meal and a live western band. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person ($35 at the door) and are available at the Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre, 1171 - 101st St. or by calling 306-937-5505.
