After wrapping up its first season of operation, the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts will be closed for the next several weeks.

According to an announcement posted on the Dekker Centre website, there will be dusting and polishing and repairs going on at the facility, as well as staff and volunteer training.

It is not the only CUPlex facility closing for a short period. A three-week shutdown is also planned for the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre from Aug. 19 to Sept. 20, mainly to clean up and taking advantage of the warranty period to get some repairs and service work done at that facility.

As for the coming fall season, the Dekker Centre website announced 15 shows have been booked so far to perform from September to December. The fall season will be announced and tickets will go on sale on Thursday, Aug. 8.

At least one event is already known - the Elvis Elvis Elvis tribute show scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9.
