North Battleford council has agreed to delay a demolition order on a property located at 1621 - 99th St. in North Battleford.

The decision was made after a proposal was put forward by an individual to purchase the property, with a pledge to rehabilitate it.

The order on the building was issued June 4 for it to be demolished by July 21. The property had been placarded by Public Health March 20.

The proposal before council called for all taxes to be paid up and for extensive work to be done to meet all the Public Health conditions and get the property approved by Public Health.

A new water tank and brand new furnace have been installed and an extension was sought in order to finish work on the rest of the building and put new flooring in.

The council resolution moved by Greg Lightfoot called for the demolition order to be delayed for three months, at which time a report could come back on the progress at the property. Councillor Don Buglas seconded it by adding a condition requiring all arrears be paid up.

The resolution passed unanimously.
