Motorists will still be facing a detour at the 1600 block of 100th Street this morning as City of North Battleford crews continue to repair a water pipe leading to a business there.
The work is expected to take all day as crews replace the water service line to 1641 - 100th Street which turned out to be in much worse condition than expected.
"It's made of copper and over the years it's gotten so thin there are pinpricks in it and it has to be replaced," said Joe Gagne, City of North Battleford water and sewer operations foreman.
Water service to businesses and residences on that block has been restored but a precautionary drinking water advisory was issued Monday afternoon and remains in effect.
During the repairs, which started Monday at 6:30 a.m., traffic on 100th Street is being re-routed to 99th Street.
Tuesday morning, Gagne was not expecting there to be any need to shut off the water to again during the repairs.
