Deagnon began as a volunteer, later becoming a valuable employee of Child Find Sask. for 10 years. Deagnon excelled in handling casework and was instrumental in the development of the Connecting Family Program. She organized and participated in several Walks for the Missing and managed volunteers and the All About Me identification program. She assisted with editing Child Find Saskatchewan's magazine.

Deagnon also spearheaded many of their special events: Green Ribbon Dinner, balloon releases, steak nights, ladies' night out, Rock 102 Cruise Weekend, safety fair and public awareness events. She made presentations to corporations and government on behalf of Child Find Sask. Deagnon was a valuable asset to the Missing Children's Monument Committee. She has volunteered with Sherbrooke Nursing Home in Saskatoon and with the North Battleford Western Development Museum.

Deagnon is in her second term as councillor for the village of Maymont and spearheaded the cleanup of Main Street. Carol is also involved with fundraisers for renovations to the Maymont Memorial Hall.

Deagnon won the United Way Schmeiser Spirit Award in 2001 for her support in raising funds for Bridge City Speedway.
