Dish thrower calls in the police

Between 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 30 calls for service/occurrences. They also dealt with four false/nuisance 911 calls and two false alarms. Saturday 9:18 a.m.

Between 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 30 calls for service/occurrences.

They also dealt with four false/nuisance 911 calls and two false alarms.

Saturday

9:18 a.m. - Complaint of a break and enter to a residence in the 1300 block of 107th Street sometime overnight. Door and window damaged, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

9:18 a.m. - Report of missing 14-year-old girl, later located by police and returned home.

11:56 a.m. - Complaint of two intoxicated and belligerent men at a business. Both left prior to police arrival.

2:30 p.m. - Report of a dispute over the attempted borrowing of a shovel. Man was refused shovel and began swearing, but left before police arrived.

2:58 p.m. - Report of possible illegal drug transaction on 19th Avenue. Still under investigation.

3:04 p.m. - Complaint of intoxicated people smashing dishes at a residence. Turned out the dish was smashed by the complainant who threw it at another person. No charges.

8:03 p.m. - Report of intoxicated male causing problems at a hotel, found to be breaching conditions of a recognizance not to leave Alberta. Arrested and will be charged accordingly.

10:48 p.m. - Noise complaint received from apartment building, turned out to be children running around. Parents spoken to.

11:01 p.m. - Complaint of an intoxicated male stumbling and falling on the road on 9th Avenue. He was lodged for sobering.

Sunday

3:39 a.m. - Report of an assault that occurred in the trailer park. Limited information received, still under investigation.

3:40 a.m. - Report of someone trying to break into a vehicle on 111th Street. No one located and no damage to vehicle.

5:42 a.m. - Complaint of loud party on 111th Street. Warning issued.
