Two worthy recipients will be benefiting from generous donations made from the estate of Marianne Magdalene Wilgers, who devoted her life to nursing and public health before she passed away in 2008 at age 93.

One of the recipients of her generosity Tuesday was North Battleford Comprehensive High School, which received $20,000 to go towards students interested in entering nursing programs.

The donation stemmed from Wilgers's belief in higher education and excellence in nursing care. On hand to receive the donation was Al Gabert, principal of North Battleford Comprehensive High School, who accepted cheque from executrix Johanne Stolz.

As well, the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club received a donation of $10,000 to go towards their operations and expenses. On hand to accept the donation was Sheri Woolridge, executive director.
