Unity RCMP along with Macklin Fire and Rescue, Macklin EMS, and Saskpower responded to a collision in the town of Macklin this morning at 7:45 am.
An east-bound truck lost control, crossed the roadway, struck an unoccupied parked car and pushed it into a power pole. The two occupants of the truck were assessed by EMS on scene and had minor injuries. The driver of the truck a 23-year-old man from Alberta. was charged with driving at a speed other than is reasonable and safe as well as driving without reasonable consideration for others.
The scene has now been cleared and barricades removed. Saskpower anticipates power outages in the near future as they will need to repair the power pole.
