Driver threatened by fellow motorist

Between 6 a.m. Thursday, May 28 and 6 a.m. Friday, May 29, North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 50 calls for service, including:
 Thursday
- Someone called to report that their wallet had been stolen out of their vehicle during the night on the 1000 block of 104th Street.
- There was a complaint of shoplifting at 2:57 p.m. at a business on the 1500 block of 100th Street. A suspect has been named and the investigation is still ongoing.
- There was a report at 3:39 p.m. that someone had driven away in the back seat of a vehicle with a baby unsafely on their lap, and not in a car seat as legally required.  Officers made patrols for the vehicle and it was not located.
- Someone reported that he had been driving in Battleford around 5 p.m. and another motorist, who was not in favour of his manner of driving, followed him and threatened him. The investigation is ongoing.
- Officers observed a 33-year-old male on 11th Avenue and 106th Street that was intoxicated with his pants down. The male was arrested and held in custody until he was sober.
- Someone reported that their purse was stolen out of their shopping cart at a business on Railway Avenue East around 8:30 p.m.
- There was a complaint on the 1700 block of 99th Street at 9 p.m. that someone had gone through their vehicle and stolen money out of their wallet.
- There was a report of a robbery at 10:58 p.m. on the 1700 block of 103rd Street. An unknown First Nation male, approximately 17-20 years old, 5’10” tall with a thin build approached the victim on the street asking for a cigarette, and then demanded that the victim hand over his cell phone and all his money. The male threatened to shoot the victim, though a gun was not seen.
Friday

- Officers located a vehicle parked on Highway 16 west of Battleford that was obstructing traffic around 4:45 a.m.  There were five intoxicated individuals in the vehicle and they were all arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and the vehicle was towed.
In addition, there were three people arrested for alcohol-related offences, six disturbances reported, six traffic complaints, two nuisance 911 calls and three false alarms.
