Dropped cellphone leaves trail for police

A dropped cellphone has led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man for theft. Police report the man is alleged to have hidden in a business in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 17, waiting for the business to close.

A dropped cellphone has led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man for theft.

Police report the man is alleged to have hidden in a business in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 17, waiting for the business to close.

The man is then alleged to have stolen a bottle of alcohol and broke two windows to escape the business. During his escape the man dropped his personal cellphone.

Police say he was apprehended the following evening and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20.
