Spiritwood RCMP say they are investigating what appears to be a possible drowning of a woman in Chitek Lake.
Chitek Lake is located about 60 km north of Spiritwood.
Spiritwood RCMP were sent to the area at around noon Sunday, joined by EMS. A bystander had brought an unconscious female ashore, said the RCMP. The woman was 67 years old and a resident of Chilliwack, B.C. She was declared deceased at the scene.
Police say the name of the deceased woman is not being released at this time as the next of kin still need to be notified.
The RCMP are continuing their investigation but foul play is not being suspected at this time.
